During Robin Stanton’s tenure as producing artistic director of the Spokane InterPlayers Ensemble, the city’s anti-gay mayor was caught up in an Internet sting in which he was found to be soliciting young gay men for unpaid intern work. Mayor Jim West admitted to gay encounters, tried to hold onto his job, but was overwhelmingly removed from office in a recall election.

Cloris Leachman Seriously Loves To Laugh

You’d best be prepared for a chat with Cloris Leachman. The lady likes her questions snappy, and she answers in kind. "You don’t talk very quickly, do you?" she asks after a moment’s pause in the conversation. "I was taught to pick up the spaces in conversations. One must never let the conversational ball drop!" Ever the pro, it turns out Leachman, who opens next Tuesday for a week’s run at the Rrazz Room, thought the interview was for radio, and wanted to make sure the audio stayed interesting. "Oh! Well, now I can relax," she exhales.

Broadway newbie Andrew Davis landed the coveted role of Lt. Joe Cable in the national tour of South Pacific that recently arrived in Los Angeles. He’s rare amongst young performers - he doesn’t even have a website. Recently he spoke shortly before a rehearsal of the Tony-winning revival where he spoke of his lack of interest in self-promotion, musicals, touring and his YouTube fame.

Place your iPhone in front of Liliane Montevecchi, and she coos and caresses it with wide-eyed fascination. "Look how cute, this little thing!" she says, turning it over. "I am, you know, so bad about all of those technical things. When I see one, I want one, but I would not know how to work it! My grandmother never touched a telephone. She was scared to death of them. I would say, ’Meme, this is ridiculous!’ I feel very bad now because I was rude to her, and now I am her age and exactly the same with those iPod stuffs."
