It's been a while, but Eric Himan, the award-winning independent singer-songwriter, will return to perform on January 10 at The Chapel in San Francisco, this time on a bill with The Gregory Douglas Band and Jeff Campbell.

San Francisco Opera will offer the world premiere of "Dream of the Red Chamber," an adaptation of the epic 18th-century Chinese novel, by composer/co-librettist Bright Sheng and co-librettist David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly).
