Embarrassing as this is to admit, Out There was hopelessly addicted as a boy to watching the long-running CBS-TV series Mission: Impossible, all about the exploits and derrings-do of the Impossible Missions Force, an American covert-action group that seemed to exist solely in order to interfere in other countries' affairs.
