About that dick-cleaning

In his column "Giving Thanks" [Jock Talk, November 24] Roger Brigham gives thanks for my presentation at the 2011 Vancouver Outgames Human Rights Conference, which he describes as "a workshop on cleaning uncircumcised dicks."

The event in question was titled "The Revolution Will Not Be Circumcised: On Foreskin, Sexual Freedom and a Human-Rights Struggle That Will Define the 21st Century" and my humorous bit about how to wash an intact penis – the point of which was that intact penises are so ridiculously easy to clean that it's insane for parents to circumcise their sons for "hygiene" reasons – was just two minutes of a wide-ranging two-hour presentation. This being the season for giving thanks, I suppose I should give thanks to Mr. Brigham for so flippantly misrepresenting my work.
