Laurence Joseph Gallagher died July 4, 2020 in San Francisco of natural causes. He is survived by Carl Baughman, his loving partner of 30 years.
Laurence was born in San Francisco, attended school in the city, and remained a longtime resident on Sacramento Street.
When he and his friends were younger — in their 20s and 30s — Laurence was always known for his Sunday afternoon soirées in his apartment on California Street. Laurence was a wizard of knowledge about San Francisco history and its founding families. He also researched many families in Ireland.
While recognized as a distinguished, proper gentleman, Laurence always found time to spend at his regular establishment — the Boot Camp.
Laurence's remains were interred under the redwood trees July 4, 2022 in Sonoma, California, in a ceremony attended by his loyal partner, Carl, and several longtime devoted friends.
