A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 7, from 5 p.m. to midnight for Silicon Valley Pride board president and CEO Thaddeus Campbell.
Mr. Campbell, 64, died November 24.
As the Bay Area Reporter previously noted, Mr. Campbell successfully led Silicon Valley Pride out of a difficult financial period. Under his leadership, the board made bold moves such as moving the event to the center of San Jose at Cesar Chavez Plaza and reviving the Pride parade. He rallied the tech community, bringing companies and other big sponsors on board.
Silicon Valley Pride board members issued a statement last week.
"The Silicon Valley Pride board is heavy-hearted on the news of the recent passing of our beloved board president, Thaddeus Campbell," the statement read. "He was a valued leader of our team and will be dearly missed. Please keep Thad's family, loved ones, and his husband in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time."
Saturday's memorial will take place at the Corinthian Ballroom, 196 N. Third Street in San Jose. Organizers noted on a flier that attendees should wear their best "bold and beautiful" attire in celebration of Mr. Campbell's spirit.
