Jon Drew Byrnes, 60, of San Francisco, passed away February 27, 2017 with his friends by his side. Jon Drew was born in Englewood, New Jersey. Jon Drew was compassionate, generous, and had a genuine love for helping others. He enjoyed a love of travel and fine dining. He lived in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He was a longtime HIV survivor and served others well with all the time he was given.
Jon Drew is survived by the man of his dreams, Garin Thomaszewski, of Buffalo, New York; his lifelong companion, Bobbie Bass of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sisters, Donna Byrnes of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kim Gaydos of Brick, New Jersey; as well as his nieces and nephew Emily, Alayna, and Bryan Gaydos. He is also survived by many amazing friends who were like family, including children Isabella, Sophia, Matthew, and Thomas Fischer who brightened his life with immeasurable joy. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Elaine Byrnes. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of your choice.
