July 30, 1943 – February 17, 2017

Michael was taken from us swiftly after somehow contracting bacterial meningitis. He was in good health and spirits just two weeks prior. The ICU at Kaiser in Santa Rosa provided him with exceptional care during his last days.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was a Catholic school survivor and attended the University of Delaware, obtaining a business degree. He decided to spend six years in the Army Reserves to satisfy his military obligations, shortly after which he moved to San Francisco. Most of his working career was as an accountant at Tri-Valley Growers, a canner of fruits and vegetables. He truly enjoyed the city and all it had to offer throughout his working career.

In 2000, he retired and moved with his partner to the Russian River, where they had bought a small house in Guerneville back in 1985. He loved the opera, cats, crossword puzzles, and the slower pace of retirement among the redwoods. His companionship and cooking skills will be sorely missed by his partner, David. He wasn't big into life celebrations, so requested no services.
