A memorial for gay actor-singer Aaron Wimmer will be held Sunday, March 6 at 1 p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 100 Diamond Street in San Francisco.

Aaron died unexpectedly February 2. He was 37.

Born in Provo, Utah, on July 26, 1978, his childhood and youth in Utah and Hawaii gave Aaron his gentle, kind spirit, and his love for animals. He pursued his dream of performing at Walt Disney World, Florida, later moving to New York to further pursue his love of theater. Aaron's proudest achievement was his poetry and performance series, Nuclear Poetry, which ran for several years. In San Francisco, he sang for the gay men's chorus and performed in several plays, including Dear Harvey. He was a fearless actor, and a passionate writer and lover of music. He shared the fantastical, creative world of his heart liberally, and his time in California was a time of adventure far afield and a time of growth.

Aaron is survived by his partner, John Bowman; mother Jennifer Anderson; stepfather Al Cymbaluk; stepmother Ruth Wimmer; siblings Abram, Christian, and Jasamyn Wimmer; grandfather Richard Anderson; and their partners and many, many loved ones.

He was a creative force and a generous soul. Donations can be made to the San Francisco SPCA, http://www.sfspca.org.
