May 13, 1949 – December 13, 2013

Dan Philip Clark, a former longtime San Francisco resident, died peacefully in his Palm Springs home surrounded by his brothers, Patrick, Brett, Mike, and Scott, and sister-in-law, Peggy. He came to San Francisco in the 1970s from his hometown of Denver and knew he had found his new home for more than 30 years.

Dan was a certified shorthand court reporter. He had his own firm for most of that time. Dan enjoyed everything about his adopted city and had many good friends and business associates. He volunteered with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and was a member of the Foggy City Square Dancers, traveling to many cities for conventions. He moved to Palm Springs in 2005 for his health, but continued his career as an instructor at Sage College. He volunteered at the historic Welwood Library and the Palm Springs Airport as a navigator.

Dan will be greatly missed by his extended family and special friends – Paul, Ira, Jim, Doug, Kathryn – and his loving feline companion, Peabody, who never left his side. Dan requested cremation and no service, but his quiet presence and true friendship will endure in our hearts. God bless and keep him, Namaste.
