Robert (Lindsay) Hunt, world traveler, poet and author, artist, healer, romantic, master gardener, and great friend passed away September 15, 2012 in Santa Cruz from advanced lung cancer.

Born in Oakland, California, the fourth of five siblings, Bob grew up in nearby El Cerrito. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz, moved to San Francisco and worked in Berkeley for UC.

There in the height of the first wave of the HIV/AIDS crisis, Bob took care of many close friends who were sick and dying. Not long after the loss of his lover, Carter Norback, Bob entered UCSF's accelerated nurse practitioner program in 1994 and graduated in 1997. He moved to the Capay Valley where he lived out the dream he and Carter had shared.

Bob returned to his home, Santa Cruz, in 2008 eventually moving to Watsonville. He worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner with Santa Cruz County Mental Health. He found great joy from serving Spanish-speaking clients there.

We will miss Bob's artistic eye, his talent for design and style, and his wonderful perspectives on science and culture. He was a quick wit and a master of literature. His brilliant soul, full of love and light, lives on within us.
