Erik was born and raised in Alameda, attending Alameda High School and San Francisco State University. He lived in San Francisco from the early Seventies. He worked on art-house films in Belgium, France and California, and found a happy and productive career as an Industrial Designer.
He and his partner, Dave Cooper, had a long and loving relationship of 21 years. Throughout their lives together they travelled the world visiting friends in Quebec, Australia, France and England.
Erik was loved by all with whom he came into contact. He was admired for his optimism and warmth, his charm and wit and his formidable sense of humour. It was his brave stoicism that helped him courageously face his death when disease finally took him on a sunny late May Day afternoon. The time has come for Erik to take his stand with his fallen comrades. He is loved forever.
