Timothy Tranter, 49, a resident of San Francisco, passed away April 26. Beloved son of Stephanie and William (deceased), and stepmother Jean. Tim is survived by his sister, Lisa Wallace, and brothers Michael Clayton and Patrick (Tracy) Clayton, and his former partner, Alan Brown. He will be sorely missed by his nieces, Vanessa and Katherine Wallace. He is also survived by his aunt, Katherine (William) Crouch-Magbee, and uncles Jon Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Michael Thomas, Henry Thomas II, and Brian Thomas.
Tim was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 23, 1961, and raised in Chicago. He graduated from Adlai E. Stevenson High School in 1979 and quickly began his career in Chicago as a software developer. Over the years, his work took him from Chicago to Germany, Atlanta, Boston, and �" finally �" San Francisco.
Tim was a very bright man whose passions included diving (the Great Barrier Reef), motorcycles, extensive travel, cooking, music, and science fiction books and collectables. He will be remembered by many for his evangelistic fervor for Doctor Who.
Tim will be greatly missed by his friends and family around the world. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Walden House or the San Francisco Food Bank in Tim's honor.
