"The Countess" was how we who were lucky enough to have known him would refer to James. "Jimmy" was born in the Philippines, and as a young man came to the United States. Talented beyond mention, he performed doing spot on impersonations of Liza and La Garland at La Cage Au Follies in Los Angeles.

With the love of his life, Ernest Fischer, he came to San Francisco in the seventies. Gracious to all, and with a heart of gold, Jimmy lived life to the fullest. Loved by all who knew hjim, generous to a fault, and with a real sense of community, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His kindness will be remembered by all who knew him, as well as his stylish silhouette, razor sharp sense of humor, and dinners prepared for six on the fly.

Without a pretentious bone in his body, he was equally at home with those he impersonated on stage, and those he met through his volunteer work at the Asian Wellness Center and TARC. His family, Shena Blue, David, Rene, miss him already, and it's been mere minutes since he was here. Lucky Heaven is when its doors open for him. Peace.
