Mark grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and spent much of his life in Portland, Oregon as an entrepreneur and Assistant General Manager of the Portland Winterhawks, where he was recognized as the Western Hockey League's Marketing Director of the Year, 1993.

While in Portland, Mark was an LGBT leader, serving as President of the Portland Area Business Association, and on the Board of the Phoenix Rising Foundation. In 2003, Mark moved to San Francisco to be closer to his family, and in 2008 to the Russian River area attending Sonoma State and working for Charles Brown in the front office at Noel's Automotive. Mark was well known for fixing all his neighbors' cars to the point that one named their child after him.

Mark is remembered by all who were close to him as having a big heart, a great smile and a desire to help everyone around him. He is survived by his brother Terry, sister Jennifer, brother-in-law Steven Teig, and honorary brother Virgil Parrett. We will miss him.

A celebration of Mark's life is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 7 in Monte Rio. Visit www.TerryMiller.biz/MarkCelebLife for details.
