April 26, 1970 – December 7, 2007

Lynette Knackstedt passed away in San Francisco, her chosen home. Born in Santa Clara, the 1988 graduate of Los Gatos High School started Center #50 for their Girl's basketball team and attended De Anza Junior College and San Francisco City College.

Offering incredible musical talents through the acclaimed widely touring ska band Skankin' Pickle, while president of the resulting Dill Records she earned the 1996 WOW Hall Favorite Female Performer award. After touring the west with band 78 RPM's, Lynette's local performances with Lucifer's Strip Club Band allowed growth from punk guitar to jazz bass guitar and drums.

Mastering many musical styles and breaking chauvinistic and homophobic trends on the punk scene as an 'out' lesbian, her larger than life appeal, prolific musical career, and honorable integrity brought pride to the many who loved her. She's missed by a large extended family and many friends.

Celebrate Lynette's life at a memorial concert on April 19 2008, at 8pm at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, CA. Music by Mike Park, The Barfeeders, and Lucifer's Strip Club Band. Proceeds benefit the Ohlhoff Recovery Programs. Or donate through 626-9782 or at
