1944 – 2007
David Verne Bassi passed away on November 9, 2007. He was born in Santa Maria, CA in 1944, and graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1962. He joined the Marine Corps in 1964 and served in Vietnam and Japan. After military service, he obtained a B.A. in Business at Allan Hancock College.
Starting his professional career in Human Resources at Columbia Records in Santa Maria, he segued into the healthcare industry, serving with distinction in several California hospitals.
David is survived by three sons, four grandchildren, an extensive family, and his partner Jay Johnson, with whom he shared residences in San Francisco and Palm Springs. He was active for many years in several uniform and motorcycle clubs
Private inurnment will be in Santa Maria at a later date.
