December 26, 1946 – November 22, 2007

After battling heart disease and HIV, Starr died unexpectedly at home after a pleasant Thanksgiving dinner with friends. He suffered from severe neuropathy which limited his mobility in the last few months of life.

Starr is survived in Utah by his mother, four brothers, his former wife and his daughter, Brittany. He was delighted when she met her boyfriend, Casey, as she never seemed happier, then overjoyed to witness them recently marry and buy a house.

Born and raised in Utah, he spoke highly of the Wasatch Academy, which he said gave him an education few kids seem to get today. The Federal Reserve Bank hired him early on in Salt Lake City. He transferred to his beloved San Francisco with them in the '70s and retired in 2000 as Vice President, Auditing.

Starr will be missed by his best friend, Joe, and many others. He had a genuinely kind-hearted and giving character. Although were disheartened hes gone at the young age of 60, we take solace in knowing his life was fulfilled.

No San Francisco memorial service is planned, reflecting Starrs disfavor of such at the passing of friends over the years.

Farewell, Starr, we know youre in a better place; youll be in our hearts forever.
