The ever-loving beautiful spirit known as Marsha transitioned from this earth on Nov. 12, 2009. Marsha, the beloved mother of Lauren Mentzel, loved her daughter with an unconditional greater-than-life love. Her nurturing motherly spirit was unmatched. Her huge heart offered love to all. Marsha had an infectious smile that lit up the room and delighted all graced with it.
She loved life and took joy in the wide variety of people she met. She was a powerful ally to her beautiful gay daughter and the LBGT people within her community. Simply put, she loved her gays. She had many talents, for 15 years she had a massage practice and was a healer through bodywork. She was an amazing cook and a lover and caretaker of gardens, earth, flowers and nature.
Marsha often said to her daughter, "The best thing I ever did in life was have you." She will be deeply missed. She was a mother and angel. They had a unique, magical connection.
She was a fierce advocate for a peaceful Tibet and devotee to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, whom she had the honor to see speak. Marsha was a living embodiment of peace, unconditional love, compassion, and acceptance.
