Richard left us on March 23, 2009 at his home amongst family and friends as a result of brain cancer. Richard was born on April 19, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas and moved to the Bay Area when he was 9 years old.
He graduated from UCSF dental school in 1979. He had his own dental practice in San Francisco for more than 20 years. Over the years, Richard touched many lives and cared deeply about his patients.
Outside of work, Richard enjoyed meeting friends and family for dinner and drinks. He loved to have challenging discussions about the stock market, politics, current events and even popular TV shows. His interests were finance and music.
He is loved and missed by his father Joe Barrera; siblings Terry (Tom) and her children Danielle, Kyle and Elise; his sister Ann and her children Ryan and Nicci; many friends; and his loving partner Peter Harrington, of 21 years.
A celebration of life will be held on April 19, 2009 at Home Restaurant where his family and cherished friends will honor his life. We will deeply miss him.
