Paul Thomas Sullivan, our son, brother, uncle and friend died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 3. "Sully" was surrounded by a close circle of friends and caregivers. He was 48.
Paul will be remembered as a gentle, blue-eyed soul who served life lovingly, giving through dance, yoga, friendship and in his work as a server at Stars and Aqua restaurants in San Francisco. Paul loved orchids and art, costume parties and handstands, tropical beaches, animals, and, of course, Madonna!
He was a loyal teacher and selfless server. Paul gracefully and courageously fought cancer, giving love and humor to his own caregivers at UCSF Medical Center and at home. And handsome; the man was beauty in motion and he brought beauty and his own unique esthetic to everything he was in contact with.
Sully leaves behind countless friends in the yoga, dance, restaurant, medical and gay communities who will dearly remember him as a true light who brightened all those he touched. A celebration of his life is planned for Feb. 6, his birthday.
