Born in Fremont to Judy and Myron, attended Warm Springs Elementary and Horner Jr. High. He spent his freshman year at Mission High School before moving to Middletown in Lake County. At Middletown, he was an enthusiastic member of the Middletown football team and finally graduated from Analy High in Sebastopol.
He pursued an aviation career through Emery Riddle Aeronautical University and obtained his private pilot license, instrument rating, instructor's certificate, and commercial and air transport pilot's licenses. He served as a flight instructor for Oakland Flyers and he flew for Ameriflight Air Courier Service. Most recently, he proudly worked as a Teamster for Mantagrano Inc. Budweiser Distributors in San Francisco. He married Charles Davy on November 3, 2008.
Jeff is survived by his spouse, Charles, of Oakland, CA; his parents Judy and Myron Meek of Middletown, CA; his brother Adam Meek of Sherman, TX; his sister and brother-in-law Melanie and Montie Annear of Karakel, Kyrgyzstan, and his five nieces and one nephew; his grandfather Cliff Gossett of Castro Valley, CA; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jeff left us early Sunday Morning on November 23, 2008 after a traffic accident.
Besides Jeff's wonderful spouse and family, he will always be remembered by his many friends and extended family. A "Save the Home" fund has been created per the request of the deceased. There will be a memorial for James December 6 at the Lonestar Saloon, 1152 Harrison St. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
