June 4, 1955 - October 2, 2006

Gregg passed away at Davies Hospital of AIDS-related pneumonia.  Gregg had been living with HIV since 1984, in good health until two years ago.   Gregg moved to San Francisco in 1978 along with three friends, driving from Syracuse, N.Y. on a whim.   He met his long-term partner Bill Hurlburt in 1982 at the dance club Trocadero, and Bill was at his side at the end.

Gregg worked for Pacific Bell from 1981-1998, when he resigned for the adventure of being a project manager for wireless phone companies in Amsterdam, Munich, and Rome.  Gregg loved traveling through every corner of Europe for his entire life.

He also loved weekend barbeques at his Russian River cabin with his dog and friends. He had a big smile, quick wit, and charm that worked its magic on everyone.

Gregg is survived by his partner Bill, mother, brothers and sisters in Syracuse, brother David and best friend Barry Helfferich in Fort Lauderdale, and friends in San Francisco.

Gregg's ashes will be interred at Redwood Memorial Garden in Guerneville, at the Russian River, which he loved.  No services will be held now, with a remembrance at a later date.  Donations may be made to the American Foundation for AIDS Research (www.AMFAR.org).
