Robert Short

August 26, 1967 – September 17, 2006

died on September 17 while fighting a battle with liver cancer.

Robert was born in Fullerton, CA, the son of Kathy Short and Robert Jorgenson, and the beloved brother of the late Joel Short.  Robert moved to San Francisco at the age of 19, where he met his partner Gar Drake. A few years later they moved to Tampa, Florida,  where he worked as Vice President of Information Systems at Raymond James. Robert returned to San Francisco five years later and became an active member of the recovery community and active in his church.

He is remembered and loved by many friends: John, David,  Arron and Lorraine and their son Coltrane, who is RobertÕs godson, to name a few.   Robert was determined to fight his battle with Hepatitis C and liver cancer by receiving alternative treatments in Germany. Robert was attending San Francisco State University to pursue a career in medicine.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 3p.m. at St. JohnÕs United Church of Christ, 501 Laguna Honda Blvd, San Francisco. The family asks that remembrances be made to Project Open Hand, 730 Polk St., San Francisco, CA 94109.
