James Kevin Bauer, a leading hair colorist at Joseph Cozza's in San Francisco, died Sept. 23. He was the loving partner of Lawrence Gerquest. Bauer was also a manufacturer's representative for Rene Furterer of Paris before leaving the workforce to pursue a baccalaureate degree.

Bauer was the loving son of James F. and Shelby Williamson Bauer of Ventura, Ca., brother of Teresa M. blessing of Johnson city, Tn., Deborah K. (Curtis) Cantwell of Roseville, Ca., and Terrence W. (Jody) Bauer of Oxnard, Ca., loving step-grandson of Ruth M. Bauer of Ingewood, Tn., nephew and godson of William J. and Margaret A. Bauer of Williamsburg, Va., and Rickie Lee Williamson of Norfolk, Va., cousin of Christopher Bauer and Michelle Bauer Hall, both of Bear, De., uncle to Brandy L. Cantwell and Taylor J. Cantwell, both of Roseville, Ca., Justine T. Blessing of Johnson City, Tn., and great-uncle of Nathan D. and Syndey M. Ingram both of Johnson City, Tn. and Antony G. Atchison, Jr., of Roseville, Ca.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Gary Feldman and the staff of Sutter VNA and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care and wonderful support provided James. The family is forever indebted to James' friend and loving angel, Cinthia Haan, who opened her heart and home to James' entire family, guided with her wisdom, cheered with humor, and consoled as they grieved.

Sept. 28 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the Chapels of Sullivan's Funeral Home, 2254 Market St. A liturgy service will be held at 7p.m.. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Sept. 29 at 1p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 100 Diamond St., followed by an inurnment and Celebration of Life at the Columbarium, 1 Loraine Ct.
