This summer promises to be a busy one for LGBT athletes. Gay Games VII takes place in Chicago from July 15-22. The first Outgames in Montreal runs from July 26 through August 5. The two events are the result of a split that occurred a few years ago, after Montreal was originally awarded the Gay Games. Subsequently, a contract dispute resulted in Montreal organizers splitting with the Federation of Gay Games and hosting their own event. Thousands of LGBT athletes from around the world are expected to participate in both events.
