It was a celebratory night at San Francisco's Strand Theater August 22 when 12 of the 14 participants of the Transgender District's Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program graduated during a small ceremony and presented their ideas for future enterprises.

The Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program, which started in 2020, is a free four-month "business bootcamp" that includes webinars, information sessions, mentorship, free business tax filings, one-on-one coaching, and assistance with the creation of a full brand suite and website, as the B.A.R. previously reported.

"This year's graduation marks the continued success of a program that has already supported over 30 entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and seed grant funding to successfully launch their businesses," stated Transgender District co-Executive Directors Breonna McCree and Carlo Gomez Arteaga prior to the ceremony.

With last week's graduation, 51 individuals have now completed the program. Mayor London Breed, through the Office of Economic & Workforce Development, provided $1,280,000 since the program started in Fiscal year 2021-22. This includes $377,746 that was used to support mini-grants to participants to support their businesses.
