Kathy Wasowski, board president of the Rainbow Women's Chorus, spoke at the opening of the new Queer Silicon Valley Gallery Sunday, August 11, in San Jose. Ken Yeager, a gay man and former San Jose city councilmember and Santa Clara County supervisor, led the effort to open the physical space as part of the Queer Silicon Valley online history project he started with the BAYMEC Community Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the South Bay political organization. The new gallery includes a special exhibit, "Sing Out With Pride: A Celebration of Queer Voices in Silicon Valley," that includes the women's chorus and the Silicon Valley Gay Men's Chorus, which is open to anyone who can sing in the tenor bass range. The museum is open on weekends from noon to 4 p.m. The exhibit on the choral groups is slated to run through November 24. For more information, go to queersiliconvalley.org.
