Walz is just the ticket
Kamala Harris' choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) as her running mate gives Democrats a powerful, proven, and articulate voice on LGBTQ youth rights, one of the Republicans' most strategically and hurtful spearheads against all of our rights.
Read that sentence with a picture of a white-haired male former football coach, Midwest governor in front of you, perhaps on a Pride event stage as he often appears. My boyfriend is crying over our breakfast as he reads and talks about the power of this choice.
It calls to mind further progress than what gay former Congressman Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) commented on in saying that from 1980 to 2013 gay rights had gone from a "no way" issue to a "oh, no" issue that many in Congress wanted to avoid.
Now we have an articulate voice of an ally for a positive future of acceptance and celebration of diversity, instead of the demonization by Republican former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance.
