Staff from the San Francisco City Clinic, muralists, and others from the Department of Public Health celebrated the dedication of a new mural, "Sanctuary for Health," on the facade of the clinic's building at 356 Seventh Street Tuesday, November 15. A news release from DPH noted that the mural was completed in collaboration with Precita Eyes Muralists, with funding provided by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. City Clinic is an outpatient center where medical staff work to prevent, diagnose, and treat sexually transmitted infections and HIV, as well as serve the sexual health needs of San Franciscans. "This mural represents the deep collaboration between staff, clients, and community across San Francisco and is an inspiring addition to the neighborhood that will add a renewed sense of welcome as patients enter the clinic," stated Dr. Grant Colfax, a gay man who is the city's health director.
