Gay San Francisco Symphony music director Michael Tilson Thomas, center, was one of several inductees into the California Hall of Fame Tuesday, December 5, at the California Museum in Sacramento. The ceremony was presided over by Governor Jerry Brown and his wife, first lady Anne Gust Brown. Joining Tilson Thomas were inductees atmospheric chemist Mario J. Molina, left, filmmaker Steven Spielberg, bioscientist Susan Desmond-Hellmann, and Gust Brown. Others named to the Hall of Fame were entertainer Lucille Ball, artist Michael McKay, quarterback Jim Plunkett, poet Gary Snyder, and vintner Warren Winiarski.
