Chanteuse Veronica Klaus returns to San Francisco for three concerts at the intimate Martuni's lounge with the Tammy Hall Trio. With her style reminiscent of classic jazz singers like Peggy Lee, the shows have an appreciative local fandom.
Klaus moved to Sharon Springs, New York a few years ago, where she performs locally while renovating a historic church into a cabaret. We did a little Q&A.
Bay Area Reporter: We look forward to your upcoming concerts. Which new songs can fans expect from your concerts at Martuni's?
Veronica Klaus: "I'm in the Mood for Love," "Let's Get Lost," "All of You," "Country Man Blues."

My friends, my old garden and taquerias!
What do you miss least about San Francisco?
The traffic.

Mary Margaret O'Hara, Jimmy Scott, Big Maybelle, and Bette Midler, of course.
What do you love most about Sharon Springs?
The beauty of the countryside and the great community!
What do you like the least about Sharon Springs?
No corner stores in the country.
Favorite place you performed?
I've always loved The Great American Music Hall; a beautiful room.
What's the strangest place you ever performed?
In a goat pen with the goats nibbling on my gown.
Other than your concerts, what's the most important/favorite thing you do when you're back in San Francisco?
Hang in my old garden with friends who still live in my old apartment building.
