Go after drug dealers

So the city's Methamphetamine Task Force sees a meth sobering center as the top recommendation for dealing with the meth crisis ["Meth sobering center top priority of task force, mayor says," October 24]. It will create "a safe place for people to sober up" they say. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone takes meth in order to sober up. I think the point is to get high. That desire, according to your article, contributed to nearly half of last year's deaths among homeless individuals.

If meth users are willing to risk death itself with this drug how is the promise of sobering up going to attract them to this proposed center? And here's an idea: how about going after the dealers who are preying on the users?
