Vacant storefronts
I am really glad to see someone finally writing about this ["Castro housing projects add to retail concerns," July 26]. I was with the Market Street Association for years and I started commenting about this years ago. I have even asked the planning commission to inventory this retail to see how much is leased to a viable entity. (I was at a hearing testifying on something else.) Those empty spaces are blight in the making and do nothing to add to street life. They need a better plan.
