An alleged robbery near Mission Dolores Park early December 6 left one person injured from a gunshot wound, San Francisco Police state.
The incident occurred at 1 a.m. at the intersection of 20th and Dolores streets, according to the department's daily recap for the media.
A suspect approached a 39-year-old man, "shot him, took his items and fled," the recap states. The shooting was non-life threatening and the victim was transported to the hospital.
Police told the Bay Area Reporter that "officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene who transported the victim to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries."
"The victim was socializing with the two suspects, an adult male and adult female, when one of the suspects attacked the victim, brandished a firearm and threatened the victim," SFPD Public Information Officer Robert Rueca stated December 7. "The male suspect then shot the victim, took U.S. currency out of the victim's pocket, and both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle."
There have been no arrests, the recap states.
Gay District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, whose district includes Dolores Park, stated that the San Francisco Police Department's Mission Station "will have additional units in the area in the late night/early morning hours."
"Early this morning a person was shot in the leg near Dolores Park during a robbery," Mandelman stated via Twitter December 6. "The victim was taken to [Zuckerman San Francisco General Hospital] and is in stable condition."
