Allen Anthony Schuh

July 9, 1940 — December 28, 2021

Allen loved Christmas, so as a final gift he got to see his beloved lights and ornaments one last time before passing quietly away on December 28, 2021. Born on July 9, 1940 in Chicago, Allen practiced real estate law and moved to San Francisco in 1988 to care for his (predeceased) partner, Paul A. Anderson. A great chef and a wonderful host, Allen's house was always open to friends and family and filled with laughter, love, and food. A proud member of AA for over 40 years, sponsor of the Frameline Film Festival, Academy of Friends, and Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Allen moved back to Chicago in 2017 and continued his love for mystery stories, the White Sox, and family. You could always count on Allen's caring heart, incredible generosity, and compassion for others. Allen will be so very missed by his spouse, Jonathan Swain; brothers Jack and wife Donna (Meilinger), Randy and wife Catherine (Inkel), and David and wife Jan (Flaa). "Uncle A" will always be remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from around the country. Be at peace, Allen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Chicago.
