Online Extra: One dead, one injured after apparent overdose at Steamworks

One man died and another was taken to the hospital after an apparent drug overdose at the Steamworks Baths in Berkeley on Friday, according to Officer Byron White of the Berkeley Police Department.

The front desk called the police at 12:22 p.m. September 27. The injured person was taken to the hospital and the coroner later came for the deceased.

The man who died was identified as Charles King IV, a 31-year-old resident of Sacramento, according to the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau.

The exact cause of death is still under investigation, according to the coroner's office.

Steamworks Baths has not responded to multiple requests for comment as of press time.
