Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits held its eighth annual two-spirits powwow Saturday, February 2, at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion. BAAITS supporters participated in a drum circle and had other activities throughout the day such as dancing. "Two spirit" is a Native American term for people with both female and male energies. BAAITS board chair Amelia Vigil said the powwow was an opportunity for the group to celebrate Native traditions.
