Lyon-Martin Health Services, a San Francisco nonprofit that provides primary medical care to women and transgender people regardless of their ability to pay, has announced that beginning Tuesday, November 7, it will be located at 1735 Mission Street.

The clinic, currently located at 1748 Market Street, will be closed starting November 2 and reopen November 7 at 11 a.m.

The move has been long expected, but the date hadn't been known. The timeworn, two-story Market Street building is expected to be replaced by a larger mixed-use development.

In an email announcement of the moving date, Lyon-Martin medical director Dr. Dawn Harbatkin said the new space, which is just three blocks away from the current site, "will offer all the services our clients rely on including primary medical, HIV, transgender, gynecologic, breast/chest, individual and group psychotherapy, and integrated behavioral health services."

Harbatkin added that the new ground floor clinic will mean easier access for all patients, and the space also includes an additional exam room and two new therapy offices.

Lyon-Martin's business hours and phone number won't change.

The Mission Street site will also house Lee Woodward Counseling Center for Women, a program of HealthRight 360. In 2015, Lyon-Martin merged with HealthRight 360, which recently relocated its integrated care center out of the building at 1735 Mission Street into a new facility nearby at 1563 Mission Street.

"This collaboration will allow improved resource sharing and access to services for both clients," said Harbatkin of the women's counseling center.
