Gerry Hill died August 20, 2021. He was one of the most dedicated and tireless volunteers in San Francisco at Larkin Street Youth Services, Project Inform, and Magnet. He received the Jefferson Award in 2006 for his every-Thursday meal preparations at Avenues to Independence, and was a professor emeritus from Carleton College in Minnesota, where he taught botany for decades. Donations can be made in his honor to Larkin Street Youth Services or the Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center.
