Lin Moses died at her home in San Francisco following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Iowa, Lin moved to San Francisco in the 1970s as a feminist lesbian single mom. In the 1980s she served on the San Francisco Pride parade committee and worked with other activists to create a more inclusive parade to elevate the voices of women, people with disabilities, and people of color. She contributed to the first years of having child care at the parade, making it possible for LGBTQ parents to attend and march. She spent many years volunteering at abortion clinics, AIDS organizations, and at the Women's Building.
Lin always knew where to find the best croissant and macchiato. She enjoyed walks on the beach while spotting whales, and losing herself in mystery novels. She had a way of connecting with everyone she met and sharing her laughter. Lin doted on her cats and had a green thumb with houseplants.
Lin is survived by daughters Alissa Leonard (Jimmy) and Sanjai Moses (Jude), mother Dolly Coonfare, and many family and friends.
