Officials in Paris, a sister city of San Francisco, were joined by Stuart Milk, the gay nephew of the late gay San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, for the dedication of Harvey Milk Square Wednesday, June 19. Timed to the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, Parisian officials also named a square in honor of the late Gilbert Baker, who co-created the rainbow flag for San Francisco's 1978 Pride celebration. Among those joining the ceremony was Alameda County Superior Court Judge Victoria Kolakowski, who was on a visit sponsored by the U.S. State Department to speak in Bordeaux, Toulouse, and Paris.
