Visitors to the Castro district on Sunday Sept. 13 enjoyed outdoor dining, drinks and shopping at local stores. Safety and health precautions were heeded as patrons enjoyed themselves while supporting local businesses.
Outside the Midnight Sun, David Delgado (a part-time bartender at The Cinch) enjoyed some time in the afternoon sun.
Across 28th Street, bartender Jason served us mimosas as we surveyed the brunch menu, which includes Greek nibblies, Angus Sliders, the Lark Burger, eggs bacon and potato breakfast items and more.
Nearby, The Mask Shop offered a glamorous array of face masks, including shiny glittery and floral designs.
Across Castro Street, on 28th, Toad Hall and The edge welcomed guests at distanced outdoor tables, as did Twin Peaks up the street.
The biggest example of businesses uniting might be the lengthy rainbow-painted parklet on the north side of Castro Street, where several restaurants like Cafe Mystique were busy serving brunch meals to several patrons.
For shopping, we stopped in at Cliff's Variety Store and Dog Eared Books for some sale titles. New books include Chasten Buttegieg's already acclaimed memoir.
And all the favorite adult items shops (Rock Hard, Does Your mother Know?) are open as well, with a tantalizing array of sexy toys and products for your private Zoom dates.
