For the third consecutive year, Santa Clara County observed Bisexual Visibility Day by raising the bi flag outside the County Government Building in San Jose Monday, September 23. On hand were Robert Sheehan, left, the bisexuals & friends group facilitator at the Billy DeFrank LGBTQ Community Center; Richard Mehlinger, chair of the Sunnyvale Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission; the Reverend Nancy Palmer Jones, senior minister at First Unitarian Church of San Jose; Sera Fernando, chief diversity officer at Silicon Valley Pride; and Maribel Martnez, director of the Santa Clara County Office of LGBTQ Affairs. Also on hand was gay County Executive David Campos. In a news release, Martnez said that the county "is a firm believer in equity and social justice ... today we want to say to our bisexual community members, we stand with you and we celebrate you."
