Sonoma County Pride was held in Santa Rosa last weekend, and officials said the event brought as many as 5,000 spectators to the downtown area, double last year's attendance. The June 1 parade, which had twice as many contingents as last year, included groups advocating trans rights, seniors, students, straight allies, and much more. Grand marshals were KSRO broadcaster Pat Kerrigan and Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the U.S. Supreme Court same-sex marriage case. Rhiannon Jones, 22, the first openly gay Miss Sonoma County, was the parade's honored guest.
