Johnnie Ford passed away peacefully July 21, 2017 at his home of natural causes. Johnnie loved life and lived it to the fullest. Johnnie always said that there was no time to let grass grow under his feet and he never did. San Francisco was his home for over 50 years and he loved this city. To anyone who ever met or knew Johnnie, there was only one Johnnie, the beautiful person who touched so, so many lives. He was kind, caring, and a class act in every way. Johnnie could be in Mexico, Las Vegas, Hawaii, or Vancouver but, everywhere he went, he met people he knew. He just always shined and loved people. We have another bright star in the sky watching over us. He was so loved and will never be forgotten. He will be forever missed. Let us all raise a glass and toast to Johnnie!
Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Duggan's Mortuary, 3434 17th Street in San Francisco. Please bring photos to share. On Saturday, August 5, visiting will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by a procession to the Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond, California, where he will be laid to rest with his family.
