Son of Uyless and Grace Shaffer, Doug passed away peacefully at his home in San Francisco. A graduate of San Jose State University, Doug became a model; he worked as a private chauffer for the Schlitz Brewing Company family, traveling the world with them. Coming back to San Francisco, he worked as a product manager for Pacific Bell until retiring. He leaves behind cousins in Bakersfield, California and Boca Raton, Florida. He also leaves behind a large "family" in San Francisco.
