Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin, seated, greet fellow Daughters of Bilitis members at a "Date of Birth" reception celebrating the 50th anniversary of the early lesbian organization that the couple founded and which still survives in the form of a chapter in Massachusetts. The reception, hosted by the GLBT Historical Society, drew about 100 attendees who paid tribute to Lyon and Martin, who have been together for almost 53 years and who are pioneers in the community.
