Saving Gangway's artifacts

Francisco Martinez, right, and his brother, Tony, from Cudden Construction carry out the first piece of the boat that had hung from the ceiling of the Gangway bar, which closed January 27. The 28-foot boat had long ago been cut into two pieces. Cudden Construction donated their services February 26 to dismantle the interior of the historic bar, helping community activists to save much of the decor for reconstruction in a new, yet-to-be determined location. In the meantime, the items will remain in storage.
