Winners, nominess, and fans of the 2018 Besties LGBTQ Best of the Bay Readers Choice Awards celebrated the Bay Area Reporter's eighth annual winners issue, with more than 100 winners feted at the celebration on April 13 at the multi-Bestie winner, Oasis. Dandy costars Leigh Crow and Ruby Vixen MCed and sang at the live show, which included Bestie winners Connie Champagne and Jason Brock, accompanied by the vivacious Kitten on the Keys. Jef Valentine, Trixxie Carr and Lady Pirhana induced gales of laughter with their Besties/Valley of the Dolls parody sketch. Best Drag King Alex U. Inn (with Kaylah Marin) inspired with closing songs. And Bestie-winning DJs Juanita MORE! and the legendary Steve Fabus (Go Bang!) played lovely mixes of classic grooves. Be sure to vote next year.
